This is the ambient temperature probe included as standard with any of our instruments that support ambient temperature measurements.
This probe is available as replacement but it is also a popular choice if you need to make your own coolant or oil temperature probes. In this case you use the brass body of an existing probe that fits your engines requirements, open this probe and remove everything that is inside (so you end up with a empty brass body with the correct dimensions and thread). Then insert our LM335 probe and ensure that the probe body contacts the brass body (to ensure rapid transfer of temperature). Then use a oil resistant epoxy to seal the probe inside the brass body.
